This game is one that I had wanted to play on the Wii U for a while. It's superhero style theme drawing me in. While the game in itself is fun, I find it lacks depth in terms of boss fights. They tend to be quite repetitive in terms of who your fighting, as it tends to be the same thing over and over for a few goes, then something else will come along, and you will have that for a few levels, before something else comes along. I think the only thing that brings any newness to the fights are the new powers that are picked up along the way.
I was happy with the way the gamepad was used, using it to be able to draw the unite morphs. Which made it quick and simple to be able to change character during battles.
The story I felt was a bit barmy and non sensical, but thoroughly enjoyable. The multiplayer, it had its moments, but I kept losing my squad... Also it felt as though it was thrown in last minute. But still fun non the less.
Would I recommend this game? Yes, for those with a Wii U who havent played it, I would recommend it, however, I would suggest loaning it. It got reasonable scores from other sites, but it does seem a bit of a marmite game. You will either love it, or find it increasingly frustrating.
That being because even on the easiest level some of the controls do take a bit of time to get the hang of it. Even when you draw a perfect circle, sometimes it wouldn't accept it as you wanting to pick red. Although my circles were never perfect
